At Matt's Dog Pals, we specialize in training dogs to live harmoniously within your family while ensuring each walk is enjoyable and enriching for your canine companion. We try to encourage the dogs to take in their surroundings, to feel free to have fun but to be part of something not just walk in silence with their head down low just sniffing and moving forwards. We want them to feel comfortable in all situations and be calm while off leash and on if needed. All dogs should be taught to walk on a loose leash to save you from an aching shoulder and the dog from straining many more muscles and joints. Any breed is welcome to join us or if needed certain dogs can be walked separately and have just as much fun. Your dog deserves to have out as do we.

The beautiful dog in picture above and opposite from this is my own dog Oliver, he always comes on the walks, even with some of the naughty dogs as he seems to bring out the best in all of them. Oliver turned 2 in November 2024 and I couldn't have a better friend than him. I'm sure we all feel the same about our dogs so we need to make sure we do our best for them and make their lives fun and exciting.

I don't train dogs to do tricks, I train dogs to live a fulfilled life in our homes with us. If all dogs are taught the basic commands and owners have an understanding of a dog body language it would make both their lives better. Owners would see how their dogs are feeling and wouldn't put their dogs in negative situations. Owners unknowingly reinforce the wrong behaviours a lot of the time so to do just a bit of training would stop many of problems behaviours from happening further on down the line, which are not the fault of the dog from occurring. If you just put some time in to research the breed of dog before you get it you well understand its needs and and make sure it will fit in with your life style. I got an English springer Spaniel knowing how much work they are to train and how high energy they are, but he fits into my life style of walking dogs and training so we both go home sightly worn out but Oliver is then calm around the home and that's what I want from him.
